Our 2022 Highlights of the Year!

Here's to an amazing year for docs and for Dogwoof! Check out our highlights of the year, from our favourite moments spent together to the releases of some incredible titles.

ANNA GODAS

My highlight of the year has been our Xmas lunch - it was the first time the whole team was together this year and that made me incredibly Happy.

OLI HARBOTTLE

The BFI Southbank Q&A for MY OLD SCHOOL, which was genuinely the most entertaining Q&A I've ever experienced, laughs a plenty courtesy of director Jono McLeod,  Alan Cumming, Lulu, and Clare Grogan.

TOM HOWSON

The highlight of my year was definitely becoming a member of Team Dogwoof - it's been a real pleasure joining such a clever and motivated group of people. More specifically, while there have been some fantastic releases this year from the distribution team, I would highlight the release of My Old School as a particular highlight. We started with a brilliant Q&A at the BFI and then the film ran and ran for weeks, especially in Scotland and particularly in Glasgow. It was a real pleasure to work on a release that did so well outside of London, which can be quite a rare thing. But there have been many, many highlights!

YUNG KHA

The BFI screening of My Old School with Lulu, Alan Cumming, Clare Grogan, and Jono McLeod hosted by Chris Hewitt. I haven't heard an audience laugh so hard or enjoy a Q&A as much!

NAFI GORDON-SY

My Highlight was Dogwoof's win at the British Association for Screen Entertainment awards. Independent distributors rarely get visibility at these award shows and it was a fantastic achievement to have all the team's efforts recognized on such a level. Dogwoof On Demand launched in 2020 and our award for innovation was a wonderful way to mark its the platforms' anniversary.

DROO PADHIAR

It's been a tough year for all coming out of the last wave of Covid restrictions, so it was an extra bonus to see both Fire of Love and My Old School do so well at the UK box office this summer. It's been a lot of fun bringing the campaign to cinemas with our various partners who helped make it happen. An honourable shout out to the Q&A at BFI Southbank for My Old School, one of the best "laugh out loud" Q&As I've been to in a long while -- here's to more in 2023!

ELLIOT NOSWORHTY
Turning up the heat with the UK release of Fire of Love! It was great to see everyone's favourite cinematic couples with our interactive displays in key cinemas across London. Serious couple goals from Katia and Maurice Krafft.

GREG TOMKINS
The Dogwoof summer picnic was my highlight of 2022. I enjoyed being a hippy for the day!

CORY KNIGHTS

I've been at Dogwoof for 18 months now, and I can safely say that this is a company at which I feel valued and respected by incredible colleagues who always go the extra mile. This evaluation by my colleagues will be diminished somewhat, given my predilection of winning comprehensively at LaserQuest AND in our weekly Guess-The-UK-Weekend-Box-Office Game.

My best moment of the year, however, was leading an incredible team and fulfilling a childhood dream during our Dogwoof Day Out at THE CRYSTAL MAZE. We racked up 12 crystals out of a possible 18, and I couldn't be more proud of them for challenging themselves and stepping outside their comfort zones. Dogwoof is nothing without its people and I am lucky to be working with such kind and intelligent people. As our hastily-arranged team motto so succinctly said: "We Are Always The Best!"

First pic: me winning a well deserved trophy that Tom is reluctant to pass to me.

HELENA FELTHAM

My two best memories are  the Christmas party and the Picnic, Because these are the only times when we have all been together  as a team ( I think this year ) and these are great  moments when every one is relaxed , having fun and creating shared experiences and memories.

I feel blessed and lucky to work within a business who  provides such generous and fun opportunities.

OLIVIA DALEY

As a keen cinema-goer, I'm always keeping my eyes peeled for Q&As coming up with filmmakers I'm excited about, so being able to work behind the scenes on organising, as well as attend, Q&As for Navalny at Curzon Soho, Fire of Love at Picturehouse Central and Curzon Bloomsbury, and My Old School at BFI Southbank this past year has undoubtedly been my highlight at Dogwoof so far. Here's to hopefully attending many more in 2023!

MIKE LEEDHAM

Those Hackney Doors get me every time!

NOOR DALDOUL

An exciting part of this year has been to travel to Cannes and IDFA and meet festival programmers in perso !

We also shared memorable games of Laser tag and Crystal Maze on our team days!

KATIE BENCH

My first IDFA! Was a great atmosphere and brilliant to see 5 of our films getting such positive, and personal reactions, including the wonderful Free Money by Sam Soko and Lauren DeFilippo.

RACHEL BROWN

Soon after joining the team earlier this year, I saw Navalny at the Curzon Soho. With the military action in Ukraine dominating the headlines, the film was very much of the moment.

What starts as a fly on the wall documentary becomes a jaw dropping thriller and its great to see the film still having an impact at the end of the year, nearly 12 months on from the premiere in Sundance, and is hotly tipped for an Academy Award.

JAMES WEBBER

Winning best dressed at the Dogwoof Christmas soirée!

CAMILLA TASSI

I joined Dogwoof in 2022 and I couldn’t ask for a funnier and more supporting team to work with. My year was full of highlights, from the amazing campaigns we worked on, to the amazing people I met that enriched me as a person and were part of the many incredible memories that made my time at Dogwoof so special. Fire of Love and My Old School were definitely two unbelievable achievements I was incredibly proud to be a part of. If I had to pick a favourite memory though, I’d probably go with our first team building away day together… LASER TAG!
