ETERNAL YOU (UK Premiere)

Artificial Intelligence has been on the public’s mind since its creation. Some love it. Some fear it. And now others might feel both now that AI can bring back past loved ones- and make them eternal. Eternal life has been desired since the beginning of time- but now that it’s possible, do we want it?

ETERNAL YOU delves into the world of startups using AI to create avatars of the deceased. A film about what might become one of the greatest human experiments of our time.

AGENT OF HAPPINESS (Uk Premiere)

Set in the Himalayas, a happiness agent called Amber is surveying the happiness levels of Bhutan. While he embarks on this remote poignant journey to record the locals' happiness rates, he is also on his own journey of self-discovery searching for happiness, and possibly even romance.

We embark with Amber on a cross-country road trip meeting citizens from all walks of life, reminding us of the fragility and beauty of our own happiness. No matter where we live. Read more here.

sugarcane (Uk Premiere)

A stunning tribute to the resilience of Native people and their way of life- SUGARCANE, the debut feature documentary from Julian Brave NoiseCat and Emily Kassie- is an epic cinematic portrait of a community during a moment of international reckoning. Set amidst a ground-breaking investigation into abuse and death at an Indian residential school, the film empowers participants to break cycles of intergenerational trauma by bearing witness to painful, long-ignored truths – and the love that endures within their families despite the revelation of genocide.

NO OTHER LAND (UK premiere)

Under the military occupation of Palestine, a young Palestinian called Basel Adra watches hopelessly as Israeli soldiers abolish his home city, Masafer Yatta, serving as the single largest forced transfer ever carried out in the occupied West Bank. All Basel can do is document what is happening, until he meets Yuval, an Israeli journalist. Together, they battle for half a decade against the genocide. NO OTHER LAND is an intimate, humanitarian film created by a Palestinian-Israeli collective, opposed to Apartheid and yearning for peace and equality- a film more essential than ever.

nocturnes (uk premiere)

NOCTURNES transports us to the dense forests of the Eastern Himalayas where in the dark of night, two curious observers shine a light on the secret world of moths.

An immersive viewing experience of sound and imagery, the film weaves together an intricate and poetic tapestry of our world. Ecologist Mansi sets out on a quest to study moths in one of the most vibrant places on earth. She teams up with Bicki, a young man from the indigenous Bugun community, to seek clues about what the future has in store for the moths.

MADE IN ETHIOPIA

When a massive Chinese industrial park lands in rural Ethiopia, a dusty farming town finds itself at the new frontier of globalization. The sprawling factory complex’s formidable Chinese director Motto now needs every bit of mettle and charm she can muster to push through a high-stakes expansion that promises 30,000 new jobs.
