Revealing our lineup of UK Premieres at this year's Edinburgh International Film Festival.
PUT YOUR SOUL ON YOUR HAND AND WALK
Put Your Soul On Your Hand And Walk is my response, as a filmmaker, to the ongoing massacre of Palestinians. A miracle happened when I met Fatem Hassona. She became my eyes in Gaza, where she resisted while documenting the war, and I became a link between her and the world, from her "Gaza prison," as she named it. We maintained this line of life for almost a year. The bits of sound and pixel that we exchanged became the film that you see. The killing of Fatem on April 16th, 2025, due to an Israeli raid on her house, changes its meaning forever.
After its UK premiere in Edinburgh, Put Your Soul On Your Hand And Walk will be in UK and Irish cinemas from 22 August. More info here.
THE GOLDEN SPURTLE
Once a year contenders from around the globe descend on a picturesque village in the Scottish Highlands to compete for the title of World Porridge Champion. Amid intense rivalries, steaming bowls of porridge, and the lives of charmingly eccentric locals we see a living legacy unfold.
Dating back to neolithic times, few culinary traditions have survived as long as the hearty bowl of morning porridge. Despite its simple recipe of OATS, SALT and WATER there is A LOT that can vary. Each year the sleepy highland village of Carrbridge awakens with excitement as locals and competitors from around the globe vie for the honour of winning The Golden Spurtle in the World Porridge Making Championships.
After its UK premiere in Edinburgh, The Golden Spurtle will be in UK and Irish cinemas from 12 September. More info here.
