Making Waves: The Art of Cinematic Sound at Cannes

Causing a splash at this year’s Cannes Film Festival will be critically acclaimed Making Waves: The Art of Cinematic Sound. The film will be premiering in Cannes Classics.

Making Waves: The Art of Cinematic Sound takes a historical journey through sound design within cinema from its early beginnings to modern day blockbuster films, giving a behind the scenes look into how the most iconic film sound effects were created. The film features a star studded cast of sound and film industry giants such as sound designers Walter Murch (Apocalypse Now, The Godfather) Ben Burtt (Star Wars, Raiders Of The Lost Ark) and Gary Rydstrom (Saving Private Ryan, Toy Story). Directors George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, David Lynch, Barbra Streisand, Sofia Coppola, Christopher Nolan and Ryan Coogler also feature.

Cannes Film Festival 2019 kicked off on Tuesday and lasts until 25th May. Making Waves: The Art of Cinematic Sound will be released in the UK later this year. Stay tuned for updates!
