The premiere of Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story saw the classic film star steal the show one last time. Her story surfaces at a timely moment, of course, building on the momentum of #metoo and Time’s Up in Hollywood through Alexandra Dean’s thoughtful documentary. It was screened to a packed auditorium at BFI as well as 70 other venues nationwide.
International Women’s Day formed the perfect backdrop for a story of this nature and it was a particularly fitting moment when Konnie Huq took to the stage for a discussion + Q&A with director Alexandra Dean and executive producer Susan Sarandon. Sarandon. The after-film discussion was broadcast live to all 70 venues and is sure to leave a lasting memory for those in attendance.
