Ken Loach's 'I, Daniel Blake' Wows at Cannes

Ken Loach returned to Cannes Film Festival this year with his latest film, I, Daniel Blake. Loach films are a regular at the festival, The Wind that Shakes the BarleyJimmy's HallLand and FreedomRaining StonesHidden Agenda and more have premiered at the festival.

I, Daniel Blake is competing for the Palm d'Or, the top honour at the festival which Loach won previously for his 2006 film The Wind That Shakes the Barley. His new film has absolutely wowed the audience at Cannes this year with The Huffington post reporting the film 'reduced Cannes Film Festival critics to tears'. Our new documentary Versus: The Life and Films of Ken Loach explores the 50 year career of the accomplished British director. The film was shot during the production of I, Daniel Blake which took the director out of his retirement. Throughout the production we are introduced to Ken's casting methods, how he decided to shoot the film in real locations rather than built sets and his views on directing and films.

Versus: The Life and Films of Ken Loach comes to UK cinemas on 3 June. On Sunday 5 June we are hosting a special series of Pay-What-You-Can screenings across the UK.
