Matthew Heineman’s outstanding Cartel Land gets 5 nods for: Outstanding Cinematography For A Nonfiction Program, Outstanding Directing For A Nonfiction Program, Outstanding Picture Editing For A Nonfiction Program, Outstanding Sound Editing For A Nonfiction Program (Single Or Multi-Camera), and Exceptional Merit In Documentary Filmmaking.
Mapplethorpe: Look at the Pictures is nominated in two categories; in the Outstanding Cinematography For A Nonfiction Program and Outstanding Documentary Or Nonfiction Special. The film is produced by Film Manufacturers and from director Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato.
Stanley Nelson is up for: Exceptional Merit In Documentary Filmmaking award for Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution.
Last but not least, Brian Oakes for Jim: The James Foley Story in the Exceptional Merit In Documentary Filmmaking category.
