Chasing Asylum and director Eva Orner were in the news today after projecting the film onto the front of Australia House in London. Eva is in town for the UK premiere of Chasing Asylum at BFI London Film Festival.
Chasing Asylum exposes the real impact of Australia’s offshore detention policies through the personal accounts of people seeking asylum and whistleblowers who tried to work within the system. In order to bring more attention to the issues raised in the film, Eva and her team decided to screen the film on the front of the London Embassy.
Eva wrote a piece in VICE that is an absolute must read: I Dare Australia's High Commissioner in London to Watch My Film 'Chasing Asylum'. The film and Australia House screening was also featured in The Guardian.
