East End Film Festival takes place across various venues across East London each year, the 2015 edition plays host to three London premieres of Dogwoof films including closing night gala film 3½ Minutes, Ten Bullets.

He has previously gone undercover to break a sex-trafficking ring, and exposed the deplorable conditions in Accra’s psychiatric hospital. Chameleon follows his Tiger Eye Investigations Bureau’s latest mission against a suspect religious sect.

The spirit of the western meets modern geopolitics Matthew Heineman’s brilliant documentary about vigilantes taking on drug cartels on the American-Mexican border. Following a roll call of fascinating characters from both sides on their nighttime excursions, this is an insight into controversial armed groups. Benefitting from an unprecedented access to these secretive organizations, Cartel Land poses such questions as what happens when the government is no longer in control, and whether it’s right to take up arms to fight violence with violence.
3½ Minutes, Ten Bullets - Sunday, July 12 at the Genesis Cinema Tickets
This special screening is the closing night gala of the festival which includes a Q&A with director Marc Silver as it is simply not to be missed.
British director Marc Silver (Who is Dayani Cristal?, EEFF 2014) returns with a documentary for the age of Ferguson and Baltimore. On Black Friday 2012 (the day after Thanksgiving), four boys in a red SUV became embroiled in an argument with the man in the car next to theirs after he asked them to turn their music down. Just three and a half minutes later, one of the boys was dead. Dissecting the fallout of a terrible tragedy this is riveting, timely cinema, and an important contribution to the debate around the issue of how much black lives actually matter in America.
