Matthew recently received the Directing Award: (U.S. Documentary) as well as the U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award for Cinematography at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival. At Sheffield Doc/Fest this year, Matthew was awarded the Tim Hetherington award.
