STORY 

In a remote part of New Zealand lies a cold, dark and mysterious cave system with the potential to be the deepest dived cave in the world. It’s here that explorer and hero of the Thai cave rescue Richard “Harry” Harris is searching for a sense of self. There’s no question that this is the highest stakes dive he has ever attempted. 

Underground, underwater, with a finite amount of gas to breathe, it’s a dangerous game to play. So what drives Harry to continue in his pursuitwhen he knows the cost – not just to himself, but to those he loves – and will he make it back to them?

FILMMAKER

Jennifer Peedom is a BAFTA and Emmy nominated writer, director and producer with journalistic integrity and rigour. She is known for balancing complex and nuanced issues in a way that is accessible and inclusive, Jennifer’s film SHERPA was a nominee for the 2015 BAFTA Award for best documentary and winner of the Grierson Award for best documentary feature at the London Film Festival. Her 2017 film MOUNTAIN became the highest grossing Australian documentary in box office history and screened theatrically in 26 countries. The sequel, RIVER, premiered at the Telluride Film Festival in 2021 and was released theatrically in 2022 in Australia, the UK, the US and other territories. It won the 2022 AACTA Award for best documentary and best original score. Jennifer’s upcoming dramatic feature about Tenzing Norgay with Academy Award nominated screenwriter Luke Davies (LION, BEAUTIFUL BOY) is slated for production in 2025 for Apple TV+.
